AGM: Presidents Report 26.11.2021

Toongabbie & Districts Junior Soccer Club - Est 1953 "The Demons"

To all Members, Players, Coaches and fellow Committee members.

The 2021 soccer season was a very challenging year on many fronts and unfortunately due to Covid 19 we were unable to finish the season.

I would like to personally thank our 2021 Committee who all did an amazing job not only keeping our club going but actually showing growth for the season. We were up on both senior and junior team numbers with a jump from 1 to 3 senior teams and from 22 to 25 junior teams from 2020.

2021 Season cancelled

It is with great regret that the Club Committee must announce that the 2021 winter soccer season has been cancelled.

This decision has been made by GDSFA, our parent association, in line with the guidance from Football NSW and NSW Health, and in consultation with local councils throughout the association area.

Understandably, this is disappointing, but is necessary at this time. The Committee and our Association will continue to work towards an orderly wrap-up of the season.

As we endeavour to finish the season, we are committed to ensuring every player receives their player medals for this season, and will reach out to players and coaches as soon as we have a safe way to do so.

Stay Safe.
Yours in sport,
Toongabbie Demons Junior Soccer club

GDSFA Game Leader Training – Wed 26th May

Do you love the game? Are you interested in learning how to lead a game as an official on the pitch.

To create a better game day experience for miniroos, ensure consistent rules are being played, and add a more professional feel with an official in the center to our games… we invite you to enter the Referee pathway as a game leader for miniroo games.

This is open to parents and players alike – understand the game better with training and experience leading a game.

Demons grant applications in progress..

This year, our club committee has been focussed on renewal – how to improve the facilities and services we provide to our club members. However, to make change, requires investment. In our search for investment, we’ve submitted a proposal for a grant to the Community Building Partnership Program 2021. This is a state administered fund investing in infrastructure projects that deliver positive social, environmental, and recreational outcomes while promoting community participation, inclusion and cohesion.

In summary, our club has plans to improve and renew our facilities and fields and we’d like your support.

If you think it’s a good idea, please voice your support to both our local member Dr Hugh McDermott MP as well as Cumberland council, to ensure they are aware of the community and club support for our proposal.

Equally if you have feedback or suggestions you’d like to share with us, or some support you can offer us, please don’t hesitate to let us know ->, or via our contact form.

Call for volunteers

Toongabbie Demons Soccer Club needs volunteers…
With the 2021 season so close, we’d love to see even more new faces involved in our club.

If you’re not ready to be a manager or coach but would still like to support your team, we’ve still got plenty of roles available.

Committee | Grounds-person | Covid Marshall | Safety Marshal | First Aid | Referee | Canteen | Cooking | Set-up | Pack-up | Media | Sponsorship | Repairs | Cleaning | Ride-share … or come up with your own suggestion to help out.

Please get in touch with the club by email and drop us your details (name and phone number) and the role you’re interested in, or contact your coach.
